New Contract from Baen Books

I have a lovely, juicy new contract with Baen Books for the publication of =Blood Enemies,= the seventh Jurisdiction novel.

The six Jurisdiction novels in my backlist will be published in two omnibus print editions, to support the new print novel. Baen published my Jurisdiction backlist in e-book format year before last.

My grateful appreciation to Baen Books for their investment in my books, and to my agent Jenn Jackson for never losing sight of the strategy (grin).

More details as they become available!

Cheers,

The first book in this series is one of my favorite sf books ever. I’m psyched the 7th book is finally getting published, and really pleased for you that the previous books are being reprinted in dead tree format (my personal preference) and getting you a whole new audience.

    Great news!

Thank you Andrew! (Not that it’s pertinent to anything, but after all these years I really have to think about what I’m doing in order to type “Andrew” . . . the muscle memory in the fingers really wants to hit the “j” . . .)

It’s a dream come true for me, to get the backlist back on the tradition (i.e. dead tree, as you say) format, and see =Blood Enemies= heading for publication. Thanks for your note!

I have to admit that I’m fantasizing about whether Stefan Rudnicki might narrate =Blood Enemies= for an audio book over at Audible.com, and have been since I finished the most recent draft . . . and I’m really, really happy to have the entire series/story in print. This gives me a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. Thanks for your note!

Oh Frabjous day! I’ve been keenly watching out in the hope that some publisher would have the nous to publish volume seven (not the last, please). I do love Baen and they have made my week. Their garish covers often belie the glories within but who cares – never judge a book by etc. And two omnibus editions of the first six – finally I shall have copies that are not “well worn”. Any news on when these delights will appear?

And thank you for creating one of the deepest, most believable societies in SF. Plausible concepts from first to last and a cast of characters one will never forget. It always feel that it has inexhaustible scope for development – that it’s a real part of the universe – all there just waiting to be recorded. One of the great fictional creations in any genre.

Hi Joyce! — I haven’t heard about the timing of the omnibus editions (I’ll get to talk to my editor at the upcoming WorldCon) but I think =Blood Enemies= may be tentatively scheduled for later on in 2016. I’ll announce more details as I get them.

What a lovely note, thank you!

      Cheers,

      Susan

Thanks! I hope you’re having fun with the story — though maybe “fun” isn’t exactly the right word (grin).

Wonderful news!! I remember reading the very first Jurisdiction novel (more years ago than *I* want to count) when it first came out. I’ve looked for your books ever since, and I’m thrilled there will be another one! SOON, I hope! 🙂

I don’t know what the publication “window” is yet, but I’ll be seeing my editor at the WorldCon in Spokane next month, and will post the information when i get it. Thanks for your note!

Bless your heart, and thank you! You’re welcome!! (I =hate= getting email from people who want to talk about my books . . . but only on Opposite Day.) (grin)

Thank you thank you!! I’m pretty over-the-moon myself, and looking forward eagerly to realizing “Blood Enemies” into the wild . . . heh heh heh heh heh.

Hooray! I love your books and I’m delighted to know that the story will continue. I’ve missed Andrej – one of the best characters in SF.
Double-hooray for the ebook editions too – my dead-tree copies were getting pretty dog-eared. I have to admit I’ve gone to the dark side on this one – I love my Kindle to the point where I’ve repurchased my favorited books in the electronic version even though I’ve got the originals downstairs. The Jurisdiction series definitely qualifies 🙂

Thanks for the note, Kerry! I’ve seen the cover to the first omnibus — it’s gorgeous. So far as I know, the release date is planned for fall-ish later on this year, but I don’t have much more information than that . . . I’ll announce it as soon as I do (grin). Meantime I’ve worked up a new project to work on, but details will have to wait.

      Lovely to hear from you!

      Cheers,

      Susan
