The novel “Crimes Against Humanity” brings the despicable Ship’s Inquisitor Danyo Pefisct back into the story. You may remember him from the short story “Insubordination” (reprinted in the Baen anthology “Fleet Insurgent”), and as the then-not-named former Student Inquisitor who had been Joslire Curran’s assignment immediately before Andrej Koscuisko’s arrival at Fleet Orientation Station Medical in the novel that started it all, “An Exchange of Hostages.”
This short story, available on the Baen Free Library, provides some background on an important plot element in “Crimes Against Humanity.” And pastry.
